Our new Project Archaeologist

a well deserved celebratory libation

We introduce Jessica Cofelice as IAC’s new Project Archaeologist! She completed the requirements this past May for her Masters degree in American and New England Studies at the University of Southern Maine.  She wrote her thesis on the burial project IAC undertook in 2009, when we had to remove the burials of the Legro and Leighton families at Interchange 15 on the Spaulding Turnpike.  Jesse uncovered some incredible journal entries that tied a carpenter neighbor to the building of one of David Legro’s grandchildren’s coffins.

Jesse came to IAC in the summer of 2009 and has been working on a variety of projects since then.  She is the new face of IAC, as Ellen and I prepare to bring on our second generation of archaeologists and project managers.  Stay tuned to hear about her exploits!
